Highest Nielsen rating for an entire season?
Hey everyone. I've always wondered what MWC's highest Nielsen rating was, does anyone here have any info on this? I know it' a long-shot since not even bundyology has it, but I figured it's worth a shot. I'm dying to know!
Thanks

This is the only info I could come up with. From Wikipedia:
"Nielsen ratings
1994-1995 Season: #64
1995-1996 Season: #78
1996-1997 Season: #97"
From this link: "By April 1989 Married...With Children had reached a 10 rating according to Nielsen's national measurements, the highest rating of any FOX show to that date." - but I don't know if they mean the full season, just the month, or a particular episode. If they do, then this may be the highest Nielsen rating for MwC. If there ever was a higher rating, it may be for seasons 4-6, IMO.

Thank you, finally I get at least 3 seasons ratings. I've seen those somewhere before but forgot to write it down. I agree with you that it must have been somewhere between season 4-6, by season 4 the Rakolta thing had gotten a lot of people interested which must have boosted the show's ratings significantly.

Re: Highest Nielsen rating for an entire season?
On Wikipedia it says that season 4 was ranked #50, do you think that was the best the show got? You'd think that with Rakolta bringing more viewers, the audience would also grow through word-of-mouth.

Wow, where did you get that info from, stranger? Do you know if that was also the highest ratings they ever got, yearwise? 20 million viewers per episode sounds like an awful lot.

I don't know how nielsen rating works but they had about 20 million viewers but low rating, example Twin Peaks had 16.2 rating but less viewers than MWC

So it looks like the 6th season was the best, ratings-wise. "She's Having My Baby" (part 1) did have the most viewers ever, I think, of all the MWC eps (29.2m) Further proof S*v*n did not need to exist!

Re: Highest Nielsen rating for an entire season?
The first season only aired in 1987. Thanks for these numbers though, I've been looking and waiting forever for some solid numbers like these! I heard that in MWC's last season, they dropped out of the top #100 though, I guess that's not so.frenky wrote:1986-1987 Season: #142

Almost, It's a Bundyful Life seems to have gotten a little higher rating with over 30 million viewers.marriedaniac wrote:Thanks for this.
