First audience applause was for Al and it was episode 0416 - 'You Gotta Know When To Hold 'Em' (part one)

I don't think he hated it, but it probably got on his nerves sometimes.

I don't believe for a second he hated it, but like marriedaniac said sometimes it probably bugged him. He has lines to say, and sitcoms are all about timing. They often had to stop in sentences, delay starting a sentence etc. If they screwed up a take, they'd have to do it all over again.

In one of the Easter Eggs David F tells about how Ed was doing a scene over and over and after a number of takes, Ed screws up and a guy in the audience says, "Awwwww, it's okay, Al!" And DF could tell that Ed "was already pissed" and Ed looked up inot the audience and said "you wanna go a couple rounds, motherfucker??"

The cast all laughed at that anecdote.
