Dragnet was renamed L.A. Dragnet for the second season. They also got rid of Frank Smith (why?) and added a bunch of new people to work with Friday. One of these new cast members was future Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.
These new changes did not help and the show was cancelled during the second season.
