0725 - THE WEDDING REPERCUSSIONS

Synopsis: Bud learns that his fling with Cousin Jimmy’s bride has reached Jimmy himself
(watch episode 713 Wedding Show for more on this) and Jimmy wants whoever did the deed with his
bride dead. The only thing is Jimmy doesn’t know who it was, except that it was someone in the
neighborhood. Everyone but Kelly says they will keep they’re mouth shut which means that between
battling his conscience and appeasing Kelly, Bud will have his hands full.

Thoughts: For the first time in it’s run that I can think of, something in MWC gets referenced
back to another episode. The timing was perfect since "Wedding Show" is still fresh in the
viewers mind. It’s rather odd how this is the only time (that I can think of anyway) that this
has happened in MWC’s large world of episodes.

Part of what makes this episode work is that Bud is the only one who is not suspected of
the crime. It just goes to show that while you don’t see Jimmy much in the show, even HE knows
that it couldn’t have been Bud by his reputation alone. Bud to this point has only had one other
girl in bed, but it was Jimmy’s girl that the network decided to use as the selling point in
commercials. Bud’s attitude is a little out of place also, instead of worrying about his friends
and neighbors shouldn’t he have a more "bundy" attitude to what’s happened in thinking that since
he got some, he should leave well enough alone?

A bit of network nepotism is on the part of Fox for this episode in that Abraham Benrubi
star of the cancelled Fox show "Parker Lewis Can’t Lose" makes his appearance as Jimmy, (as well
as the baby in Al’s dream from the season 6 opener). While this sort of casting is something
that networks and shows always do (ABC’s cancelled America’s Funniest People being the best
example every week was the star of an ABC show), it is almost overlooked since the guy could act
and did a fine job here as the somewhat naïve, not aware of his own strength type. The neighbors
are in and out again in one scene but serve a purpose for once since they add to Bud’s nagging
conscience. All other family members are front and center.

Another great story in the end with great examples of Kelly’s brain power, a
witty retort by Buck and even a little of Al’s fatherly advice, from why it’s important to lie,
to blah, blahing through life.

Rating: 8 shoes out of 10. More evidence to the fact that season 7 wasn’t so bad after all.
See what happens when Seven is gone?

Quotable Quotes: (thank you transcript section!)

Jimmy: Anyone can eat a hundred Whoppers.

Jimmy: (talking about his ex) She was beautiful, she was rich and her parents are dead.

Al: Son, are we alone?
Bud: Yeah dad.
Al: Good. Then you’re the only one I have to get rid of.

Al: Only thing that separates us from the Kennedy’s is they have money!
(What does that say about the Kennedy’s?!)

Jefferson: He (Jimmy) thinks I slept with his wife.
Al: Well, let him sleep with yours, that’ll be the end of him.
