[Collectable] Original Scripts

Post by Daniel »

In my opinion one of the holy grails what a true MWC fan wants/needs.
A signed original script of an episode.

Scripts have been signed from time to time by the actors and as far as I know are very rare - but from time to time you get the chance to buy one.

I love collecting scripts but don't have any signed ones.
Another problem is knowing what you have is either a genuine script or a photocopy.

You're right.
For my personal script I can say that it's a genuine script - you can feel the signs on the backside of the first paper.

Did you get `yours from mwcfan1, Daniel?

I'd love to have some original scripts, period. Most on eBay looks like they are copies of the real thing.

There are a lot of copies on Ebay and they are priced low, but I don't think I'd buy one.
I'd love to have a genuine one, but it's well out of my price range and I'd be afraid of getting of getting a copy.
I dropped you like third period French!

I buy copies too; it's still a script in script form. I love to see what's been omitted/changed/pre-recorded/etc.

I'm not quite sure if I bought it from him.
Bought a lot from him, but not the script as far as I remember.

I'd say that is very difficult.
If it has signatures you should take a closer look if they are real and not just photocopied.
Most of the time the use exact the same signature. An original doesn't look always the like the other.

Great signed script btw Daniel.

I've seen a few copies on Ebay for $8.00. The seller claims they came form an estate sale and cannot say they are original....I stay away from those.

Here's some pics of mine. It was certainly handled and does show age. I'm kinda happy it's not signed being that it' was a possible spinoff show from the series.

I was fooled recently into purchasing a MWC cookbook on Ebay titled: Pig out with Peg. The seller was from CA and said he went to a guest appearance at a local mall and claimed the book was purchased and signed there back in the 90's I never saw the book before so I purchased it. When it arrived it was painfully apparent that the signatures of the cast were printed, which means every book contained the facsimile signature's. The seller did take the book back but swore it was signed long ago.

Many of the promo photos I have obtained have the identical signature's on each of them. They match the facsimile autos in the cookbook as well.

Great script!
It looks as it is an original one. At least you have the same "bridge bars" as I have.
