Steve Rhoades or Jefferson D'Arcy?
There is an existing topic where this question is brought up (actually, the the actors, not characters are the object of that topic), but...
Since that topic is old, and the fact that 80% of the voters were guests, I thought I'd create a new one, this time with a poll. I think we can get a wider view here, since some of the non-English speaking posters may not want/be able to post their opinions & motivation due to lack of knowledge for the English language, and can now simply vote Steve or Jefferson on the poll.
So, which husband of Marcy do you prefer?
Some statistics for you:
David Garrison played Steve Rhoades in 71 episodes between the years 1987-1990 in seasons 1-4, after that he appeared as the special guest star in 4 episodes, making his total of episodes 75.
Ted McGinley played Jefferson D'Arcy in 164 episodes between the years 1990-1997 in seasons 5-11, he also appeared once as Peggy's would-be husband if Al had never lived in It's A Bundyful Life Part 2, making his total of episodes 165.
Let the voting begin!

Jefferson takes the cake, Stieve is very good too but Jefferson is the winner he is much funnier imo. He is the "right" kind of chap to hang out with even if he is and asshole when theres trouble

Six votes so far and they are tied!
Two for Steve
Two for Jefferson
Two for equally
I haven't voted yet, gosh it's so hard. I think Jefferson makes me laugh more since he's more like Al, but I think Steve is a better character, different from Al which leads to a lot of funny storylines.

I like both, but i love Jefferson more he's really funny and kind of super hot xD lol and i love how marcy treats him lol.
Marcy: Guess what? We're going to have a new addition to our family.
Al: Well, shouldn't you be sitting on it, waiting for it to hatch?

Time to bump this thread for our new members as well. Cast your votes in the poll and let us know who you chose, and why.

I voted for Mr Steven Rhoades.
I just thought he was sooo funny, and had this innocence about him that Al manipulated
That quirkly little smile he gives is great, like in Hot Off the Grill, when he found out he was eating the ashes.
I really was rolling on the floor laughing at that one!

Re: Steve Rhoades or Jefferson D'Arcy?
both turned out good but id go for steve as he was the opposite of al and a better foil for him on a comedic level. whereas jefferson was similar, the writers do make both characters work very well to be fair.
ive said it before some of my all-time fav scenes are in the early episode when al and steve are sitting on the couch.

I like both equally but for different reasons that have already been noted. They each had great characteristics, I loved the ones where they were both in the episode. Now if you had us choose between Buck and Lucky....there'd be no contest.

Of course! Now, which voice for Buck??? I like the producer guy over Cheech Marin.
