When did you realize that MWC was going to be your fave show

Post by doubleOshoe » Wed Jun 26, 2013 11:34 pm

Title says it all ladies and gentlemen.
What particular episode (or even scene on a specific episode) while watching MwC did you realize that this was going to be your new favorite show?

October 1997.
I'd been watching the show since I was little and always loved it, but in '97 we got cable TV and the end of season 3 / beginning of season 4 was currently on. That's when I started recording the episodes to keep. Even in my impressionable teenage years, I just KNEW.

Honestly since I first started watching it in 1989-90. I was only 11 but I remember I couldn't wait for Sunday night. Nothing has ever come close to it. I've watched other show's and been into them, but this is the only one I watch at least once a week and over and over and over.

MWC is a newly discovered love for me - i came across it for the first time in 2012. But halfway through the pilot i knew that this would supplant Titus as my fave show.

Although I'd seen a few episodes from season 1, it was the original airing of Poppy's By the Tree that made me a MWC fan for life!
I dropped you like third period French!

Why newly discovered? Are you young? NonAmerican?

For being new to the show, I'm impressed with the details you know.

Indeed! I'm also impressed you managed to not catch the MWC bug until last year. Did you happen to see the pilot as part of FOX's 25th anniversary?

Hey, hey! Don't forget MWC still reigns over Europe! ;)

I have no idea "when" I knew this was THE show for me. I was more or less raised with this show, it's been with me for a long time now. Nothing's ever gonna top it.

Yup, I was born and raised in india and the humor there has its roots in slapstick - something I didnt mind, but didnt quite love.
I came to the US a few years back and caught the show on Crackle. The kind of humor was very different from the one i was used to - the humor here came from a very real place and was extremely character driven. This was something relatable and something that worked on many levels.

I mean, who amongst us wouldnt crack a smile at Al bundy pointing to his dog and saying "There better be juice" (in the pilot).

Did you then just go out and buy all 11 seasons?

That is quite interesting. And yeah, did you immediately acquire every single episode in some way? And start watching them repeatedly and filling up with knowledge and observations?

Whenever I see those TV-ads for computeroptimized matchmaking I am reminded of MWC.
That is when I am inspired to seek refuge under Al's protective (or at least smelly) wings.
