For all Netherland Guys who have to answer that question for a quiz (I know everything :) )

Here ist the answer:

Al never repaired his socks himself!
In Episode "111 - where's the boss" - we see Peggy repairing his socks with a "Bostich". (I'm sorry, but I don't know the english word for it). That's a tool for binding books for exapmle. I found a picture on the Internet: http://www.geocities.com/chrisliechti/d ... ostich.jpg
It's some kind of a "tacker" - so it's called in the german-slang. If anybody knows the correct english word for that please post it here!
In no other episode we saw someone repairing Al's socks.

Hope that helps.

I think he was only forced to repair his underwear himself. In one episode Peggy brought home an "underwear repair kit" for Al. :)
It's not that I don't care...Oh sure that's part of it. - Al Bundy

der tacker od. heftmaschine = in engl. "stapler"
a "Tacker" or "Bostich" seems to be something like a "stapler" in english.
