Hi all,
New to the forum, hope this is the right place to post this: in Israel, they've just started shooting a (second) re-make of MWC. There was one done back in '95 which lasted a single season - let's hope this one lasts longer... (two seasons have been ordered so far).
I'm attaching photos of the actors who were chosen, so y'all can form your own opinions about the likelihood to the original characters -

I see they're going for the 'daytime soap' casting from the Young 'n' Hot collection.
"Marcy" looks like so many people I've seen before.

Oh, and hi, AgentRed! 8)

That's cool, I love how popular the show still is.

You should email this information to Andreas at Bundyology so he can add it to his site the next time he updates it.

So, forgive my ignorance, but this is going to be MWC in Hebrew? Or do they just do it in English but make it relavent to Jewish culture? If its done in English, i'd kind of like to check it out.

On the otherhand its a good way to learn some Hebrew. Does anybody know if there is a Spanish-language remake? I'm gonna make sure my kids speak Spanish so I might as well practice with something fun.

There is a huge demographic shift going on in America.

I wonder if they are going to drop Steve in the 4th season then bring in a Jefferson? Or are they going to make that guy like a hybrid Stefferson so he can capture both characters.

Stefferson :)

Is there a midwestern housewife with too much time and money ready to watch this episode and probably many more and kick up a stink?

Well, the first episode aired at last, and I don't know how many more of these I'll be able to take... boy, was it godawful. This episode - a remake of "Here's Lookin' At You, Kid" - just goes to show how important casting is in a show: the script was more or less the same as in the original (except for the school material "Bud" was teaching "Kelly", which was adjusted), but the actors just blew... And to add insult to injury, the writers decided to tack on two extra lame scenes: one of "Peggy" dancing provocatively at the window to the tune of 50 Cent's "Candy Shop", and another of the neighborhood women abusing "Steve"'s face in order to prepare an identikit.

Made me wish I'd spent those 20 minutes watching a real MWC episode... :(
